Recently we have had some very good mountain skills training courses. We are glad to see that we are offering a mountain skills 1 training course every month in Kerry and sometimes two a month, mountain skills training in Galway has also been very popular and we are back up there again on 19 and 20 April for Mountain skills 1 training Galway, there will be a follow up of Mountain skills 2 training in Galway on 24th and 25th of May. Below are dates of upcoming mountain skills training courses with Irish Adventures. Also is a few comments that our clients have said about their experience of mountain skills training.

Winter Skills Scotland

  • Winter Skills Training Scotland Only 550 euro

    Winter skills training is been run in Scotland during February and March 2008 by Irish Adventures, this winter training will give you a great introduction to the skills one requires to walk safely in winter condition, whether it is in Ireland, Scotland or further a field. These courses are run over a long weekend, course starts on Friday morning and finishes Monday evening after 4 days winter walking on Classic mountains such as Ben Nevis and other mountains around Fort William and Glencoe.
    Accommodation is provided for 5 nights, Thursday evening till Tuesday morning, at a lakeside chalet accommodation very close to Fort William. Irish Adventures offers a complimentary transfer from both of Glasgow airports and can also collect at Train Stations if pre-arranged; this transfer will collect on Thursday Evening and get back to Glasgow on Tuesday Morning for around 11am. With Great cheap flights out of Dublin, Shannon and Cork to Glasgow then booking early will make sure your travel costs are kept to a minimum. There will be regular shuttle runs to Fort William in evenings for those who prefer eating out or for a few drinks (especially on last evening of course).

    What is included in the cost is?

  • Transfer to and from Glasgow
    All transport during the course
    Luxury self-catering accommodation at lake-front Chalets, near Fort William
    Technician equipment, Helmet, Harness, Ice-axe and Crampons
    Experience and qualified instructors
    Four days of instruction and classic winter walking including Ben Nevis

    Walking days are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, so transport to Scotland on Thurs and Tues is best. First day will be ice axe and crampon work and Ben Nevis will be done over the 4 days, no previous winter skills is required, but recommended for reasonable to good level of fitness and hillwalking experience.

    This is based on per person sharing twin rooms, single room supplement is available.

White Water Kayaking


Want to try White Water Kayaking but not sure where to start?

These one-day courses are suitable for all levels of experience, from complete beginners upwards. Spend a day learning some basic skills, bouncing down rapids and paddling down a moving river!
All equipment is provided.
